- Registration: 6:00 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.
- 5K Race: 7:50 a.m.
- 5K Walk: 7:50 a.m. (walkers corralled behind runners)
- 15K Race: 8:10 a.m.
- Awards Ceremony: 10:45 a.m. (approximate)
Packet Pickup and Late Registration
Packet pickup and late registration will be held at Eastern Elementary School Gym (1600 Eastern Avenue, Traverse City, MI 49686) at the following times:
- Friday, July 9, 2010 from 5:00. to 8:30 p.m.
- Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 6:00 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. (Sharp!)
Parking is available in the lots around Eastern Elementary, TC Central High School, on the streets where allowed and in designated Northwestern Michigan College parking lots.
Shirts
The Meijer Festival of Races souvenir shirts with this year’s logo will be available to a limited number of pre-registrants during packet pickup on a first come basis. If we have not reached our limit, the remaining shirts will be available to late registrants during packet pickup time. Shirts will be available in sizes small to 2XL; sizes cannot be reserved.
Results
Timing is provided by Classic Race Management using the ChronoTrack System's “D-tag” disposable timing chips. Results will be posted at the finish area after the races and later that day at www.classicrace.com.
New this year, for $5 pre-paid through online registration, receive the Friday, Saturday, an
d Sunday Edition of the Award winning Traverse City Record Eagle including race editorial and complete results.
Awards
- Age group awards and finish time based on chip time
- Awards for first to third place in all age groups, and awards to overall and masters
- Awards will be presented during a ceremony following both races at 10:45 a.m. Those not present can obtain from the National Cherry Festival Office from Monday, July 12 to Friday July 30, 2010 on the third floor of the Chase Bank building at 250 East Front Street, Suite 301, Traverse City, MI 49684
Course Routes – Both Point to Point with exciting straighaway finish down Front Street!
Race Divisions
5K Run; 15K Run - Overall Male, Female in Open and Masters Divisions. The 5K Walk is participatory, no awards will be presented

Medals will be available at the finish line until 11:00 a.m. and thereafter at the National Cherry Festival Office at 250 Front Street, Ste 301, Traverse City, MI 49684. No medals will be mailed. Awards ceremony will be held for Overall and Masters Male/Female in the 5K Run and 15K and top three age divisions.
Race Features:
- Finish on Parade Route at Front & Union Streets – RIGHT DOWNTOWN!
- Awards: Medals will be given to the top three in each age division
- Pace-based start sections – look for pace per mile signs
Reminder:
- For the safety of all runners no strollers, rollerblades, wagons or wheeled objects or animals allowed on the race course
- Organizers reserve the right to cancel the race in the event of inclement weather. No refunds will be made.

- Confirmations will be e-mailed to those registering online by July 8, 2010
- Those who participate in events they have not registered for will not be timed or scored
- On-site late registration available July 9 during registration/packet pick up/race changes at Eastern Elementary only for non-refundable fee as scheduled above.
- Race Day registration starting at 6:00 a.m., Saturday, July 10, is closed at 7:15 a.m. sharp!
Day of the Race:
- NEW! AWARDS PARTY: One short block north of finish line at 10:45 a.m. head for the Festival Beer Tent, awards to Top 3 in age group, overall and masters. Refreshments and music featured.
- Results: Results will be posted on race day at www.cherryfestival.org and will be printed in the Traverse City Record-Eagle on the following day.
- Finish line Re-fuel: will include cookies, bananas, bagels, water, pepsi, cherries and other goodies.
- Take a dip in the Bay! With the race finish only a block from the festival Open Space, finish with a refreshing dip in the nearby Grand Traverse Bay.
- Parking & Shuttle Service: Parking is available on the Campus of NMC, excluding Aspen and Cedar and Chestnut Lots. Shuttle buses run from the finish area at the Grand Traverse Heritage Center on Sixth Street to NMC from 8:30 a.m. to noon
Please Note
- Registrations are non-transferable and non-refundable
- Animals and baby strollers are not allowed
- Walking the course is allowed
- Limited traffic access from 8:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on race day
- Weather conditions vary from year to year, so dress appropriately
- In case of severe weather, event directors reserve the right to cancel without refund
